Ok, so we tried to go to Ascension at the DNA Lounge (after finding out the road rules from a taxi driver on the way - yes and on the 3rd day we discovered the ROAD RULES). We turn up at the DNA Lounge and line up - velvet rope city here kids. We notice that there are only Asian kids in the line but we notice a couple of goth looking bouncers so we think we're OK. We wait in line for 20 mins before we're at the front. Goth bouncer says that my passport is "arse-ome" (whose isn't?) and we go through to pay. It says it's $20. I think, no, this is wrong. I try to explain to paying girl that we want to go to the Goth club, not the $20 thing. She no understand me. I leave the place and go and ask hot goth bouncer what the go is. He tells me that Ascension was on 2 days ago and it was a misprint in the street mag. I cry, no I don't. He says, nooo there's nothing on in this city on Friday or Saturday nights for Goths, not even original band nights. He says there's this place an hour away that is called the Thunderdome which is held once a year which is just like the Thunderdome in Mad Max and it's really cool. We don't want to drive for an hour. Sooo we go across the street to a little club called Butter. It was good. I was happy.
